This project is in combination with the medallion that I created… it is a replacement for an old fireplace and an update to an old home! Thanks to Rick Geary for his help with this monster.. I couldn’t have done it without him!

The wall was faced outside and then carried in… after it was put in place it was without a doubt about 6″ too tall.. so back outside it went, and we shorten the wall, ugh!

After it was shortened, painted and trimmed… the proportions are about right! I also added a few boxes for power, cable and HDMI cables..

The TV was mounted… the 20amp circuit for the fireplace hadn’t been installed yet, so I simply ran an extension to the outlet to take it for a test drive, proportionally it really looks good…
The drawer and mantle that I made, had a long travel from Louisville, and fit perfectly.

The mantle was attached, and the electronics are now hidden…

The last item to install was the fireplace, it was simply held in place with 4 screws, easy install and a great addition.

This is a great addition to this place, and updates this old home with a 20th century look and feel…
