Web Site FTP Instructions:

STEP 1
Download an FTP software. For example, WS_FTP LE (the world's most popular FTP client) at Ipswitch and install it on your computer. Download the manual.
The following is a simple step by step instruction on how to setup a profile for uploading your files to the web site. You only need to do this once.

STEP 2
Launch WS_FTP LE. FTP will open and you'll see a "session properties" dialog box as show in Exhibit A.

Click on the button "New" to create a new profile.
Enter a name for the field "Profile Name". This is just a label, you can name it whatever is easy for you to remember/know that this profile is for your WebAJM account.
Enter the "Host Name/Address" field. You may enter either your domain name (i.e. yourdomainname.com or WebAJM.Com/yourdomainname)
Leave Host Type as "Automatic detect"
Enter the User ID and Password that you've been given by WebAJM. (do not check the "anonymous" check box. You may enable the "Save Pwd" check box if you wish FTP to remember the passoword for you so you do not have to retype it everytime you use FTP.
Leave "Account" empty and everything else untouched.

Done! Your have created the FTP profile for connecting to WebAJM's web server!
Click on the "OK" button and FTP will connect to the server. You'll see the following screen after connected to our web site.

As you can see, the left window display the files and directories on your PC and the right hand side displays the files and directories on the web server.

To transfer a file from your PC to the web server. Simply find the file that you want to upload, click on it once and click on the "arrow" between the two windows, which points in the direction that you wish to transfer the file to. The file should appear in the other window as the transfer completed.

TIP:

Image files such as gif or jpeg should be uploaded in Binary mode.
All html files should be uploaded in ASCII mode.
To avoid problems with selecting the correct file type, you may wish to leave the "Auto" box checked at all times.

STEP 3
To view the web page you just uploaded. Enter your domain name as the URL in your browser. (i.e. www.yourdomainname.com or www.WebAJM.Com/yourdomainname). To have your main page appear automatically when someone someone loads your site in the browser, name that file "index.htm" or "default.htm".
